House move to close NC 211 for two hours Wednesday
BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The North Carolina Department of Transportation has issued a permit for a house to be moved in southern Brunswick County tomorrow.
Crews will move the house from North Atlantic Avenue in Southport to Long Beach Road. The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office says because of the size of the house, it will have to be moved down NC 211 to the new Oak Island Bridge, through the Town of Oak Island and back to Long Beach Road.
To make this happen, NC 211 will be closed to all traffic tomorrow from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. from Long Beach Road to Midway Road.
Traffic coming into Southport will be diverted through the Oak Island via the new Oak Island Bridge. The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office, Oak Island Police Department and Southport Police Department will help with traffic control.
