House tightens controls on visa-free travel to US
WASHINGTON (AP) — The House has overwhelmingly approved tightening the “visa waiver” program.
The existing program allows citizens of 38 countries to be in the US for up to 3 months without a visa.
The legislation would require visas for anyone who’s been in Iraq or Syria in the previous five years.
Exceptions are made for official government visits and military service.
