How to prepare your car for winter in the Cape Fear

LELAND, NC (WWAY) — As we get into winter, you may need to ensure your vehicle is prepared for winter.

While we may live in an area that sees very little snow, it’s still important to ensure your car can handle winter temperatures.

Casey Northrup owns KC’s Precision Autio in Leland.

He said it’s important to keep your tired inflated because they can lose air from the cold temps.

And car batteries can also lose their charge due to cold temperatures.

He also said its important to remember to keep some items in your car that will help you during the cold winter mornings.

“You know, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to put a few things in your car this time of year just in case,” Northrup said. “You know, the ice scrapper and some people have the small booster packs in case they have a battery issue just ti make sure that they can get their car started.”

Triple A Carolinas also said, if you;re driving during the winter, make sure to allow more room between you and the car in front of you to allow for easier stopping when driving in icy conditions.
