How’s Howie? He’s improving!

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — We first told you about the 3-month-old beagle named Howie last month.

The pup was found by Brunswick County Animal Services and didn’t have feeling in his back legs because of a spinal injury. Foster parents Josie Highsmith and her husband were told it was unclear whether or not he would be able to walk without assistance.

Facebook page “How’s Howie” posted a video of him Thursday morning walking without his wheelchair!

The post said he just finished his first six weeks of physical therapy at Eastern Carolina Veterinary Referral in Wilmington. He was going to therapy for 5 days a week, but now will only go 3 days a week.
