Hundreds escape after plane catches fire at airport

DANIA BEACH, Fla. (AP) — The National Transportation Safety Board has begun investigating yesterday’s engine fire of a Dynamic Airways jet at Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport.

The engine caught fire just before the plane was about to leave for Venezuela.

More than 100 passengers evacuated using emergency slides as black smoke and flames shot from the plane.

Fire officials say 21 people were injured. One person was seriously hurt.
