Hwy 17 in Calabash shut down due to barn fire

BRUNSWICK COUNTY (WWAY) — Highway 17 in Calabash was shut down in both directions Saturday afternoon due to a barn fire, according to the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office.

The structure fire happened at 10130 Ocean Highway West after 4 p.m. Saturday.

Traffic was diverted so that fire hoses could be stretched across the highway.

All lanes reopened around 6 p.m.
