Iler, Rabon return to Raleigh after reelection
BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A pair of Brunswick County Republicans are heading back to Raleigh after winning reelection Tuesday.
Rep. Frank Iler captured 67 percent of the vote against Democrat Charles Warren to win a third full term in the 17th District. Iler has been in the NC House since 2009, when he was appointed to finish out the term of Bonner Stiller, who resigned.
Voters also chose to send Sen. Bill Rabon back to the capital for a third term. The Southport veterinarian kept his 8th District seat with 57 percent of the vote over fellow veterinarian Ernie Ward, a Calabash Democrat.
