Ingram Planetarium hosting limited time Christmas shows
SUNSET BEACH, NC (WWAY)– A Brunswick County planetarium is bringing the magic of Christmas to life “under the stars” with a 3D experience of the Christmas story.
“It’s a show that’s out of this world for sure,” said Ingram Planetarium Manager, Callie Boyle.
Throughout the month of December, Ingram Planetarium is hosting special Christmas events with light and laser shows in the dome theater.
The “Mystery of the Christmas Star” gives a new perspective on the birth of Jesus.
“It runs Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 12 o clock noon. It’s about the idea that astronomers have come up with of what kind of astronomical event may have been a bright object in the sky on the time Jesus was born,” said Boyle.
The shows are done in the planetarium’s immersive theater.
“The show itself runs for about 30 minutes, but all of our shows include a live start talk at the end. So, you’ll also get a guided tour of what’s in the sky that night,” said Boyle.
Even after the show is over, the fun doesn’t stop there.
“We have our exhibit hall that has a few hands-on activities and learning opportunities for children and it’s a fun place to come and play and check out space science.”
The planetarium also offers holiday laser shows on Fridays and Saturdays at 6 & 7 pm along with the story of Santa’s Magic Telescope, which will be shown for the final time on December 22nd.
