Injuries reported at Riegelwood mill

RIEGELWOOD, NC (WWAY) — A spokeswoman with the International Paper Riegelwood Mill says three people are recovering from injuries sustained at the mill this morning.

Kim Clewis said a contractor’s employee injured his leg and was transported for treatment; she added two International Paper employees who responded to the incident were also hurt and transported to the hospital for treatments. Clewis said the injuries are believed to be non life-threatening.

“The health and safety of our employees, contractors and community are top priorities,” Clewis said.

There’s no word on the cause of the incident.
