Inspections on Brunswick Co. bridge causing lane closures
BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Inspections on the G.V. Barbee Bridge (Old Oak Island Bridge) will cause some lane closures today and next week.
An NCDOT spokesperson said crews will be on the bridge today and Monday thru Friday next week. Drivers will see crews in the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. each day, weather permitting. The bridge on NC 133 gets inspected every two years.
Drivers are urged to use caution in the area and keep a look out for crews.
The DOT also said work near that area on NC 211 at the intersection of NC 87 to the Ferry Terminal that was supposed to begin next week has been postponed.
