Interim tag removed from Brunswick County’s Warren as NC courts director
RALEIGH, NC (AP) – The interim administrator of North Carolina’s courts system has been asked to stay on in the position.
Chief Justice Mark Martin announced Tuesday that he has appointed District Court Judge Marion Warren of Brunswick County as director of the Administrative Office of the Courts. Warren has held the job on an interim basis for about six months.
Martin says a search committee led by former Chief Justice Burley Mitchell identified Warren as a finalist to succeed retired courts Director John W. Smith. Martin says Warren did an exceptional job in the interim role.
Warren has been a judge serving Bladen, Brunswick and Columbus counties and has been an assistant prosecutor. He was an unsuccessful state Court of Appeals candidate in 2014.
