Investigators looking into ‘very credible leads’ in missing mom case

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — New details in the continuing search for missing Wilmington mother Ebonee Spears. Spears was last seen back in January. 

Although he could not go into detail, Captain Thomas Witkowski with the Wilmington Police Department said investigators are currently looking into what they are calling some “very credible leads” right now.

“We’re still following up on some leads that we have, some recent leads. We’ve got a few detectives working on it,” Witkowski said.

He adds police did not see an increase in leads coming in after the billboards featuring Spear’s picture went live several weeks ago.

He continues to encourage anyone with any information to come forward.
