Wilmington house fire ruled intentional
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Wilmington Fire Department determined a house fire Saturday night was intentionally set.
The Wilmington Fire Department, Wilmington Police Department and SBI investigated after crews were called to 306 Meares Street just before 11 p.m. Saturday night.
Upon arrival, crews reported smoke and flames visible from the second story of a two story home. The structure appeared to be vacant.
Crews had the fire under control within minutes and completely extinguished by 11:25pm.
No injuries were reported, but property loss is estimated to be $20,000.
It was determined the fire was intentionally set in the crawl space.
There are no suspects at this time.
