IRONMAN 70.3 NC canceled due to damaged course

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — An annual triathlon scheduled for next month will no longer happened due to the extensive damage to the course caused by Florence.

According to a Facebook post, IRONMAN 70.3 North Carolina triathlon was to take place on October 13, but organizers and Wilmington officials agreed to cancel the event.

The post states routes of all three athletic events sustained substantial damage from the hurricane, the main reason for canceling the event.
