Jacksonville father charged with death of 9-month old daughter
JACKSONVILLE, NC (WCTI) — A Jacksonville father has been charged with the death of his 9-month old daughter.
SVU Detectives with the Jacksonville Police Department began an investigation involving the death of a 9-month-old child on September 22 of this year.
After a lengthy investigation in cooperation with the Onslow County District Attorney’s Office, the child’s father, TraQuan Curtis, 21, was charged with an open count of Murder, officials said in a press release.
Yesterday, Jacksonville Police Department requested the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force and the Waterbury Connecticut Police Department to assist with locating Curtis who was believed to have fled to Connecticut.
This morning, the U.S. Marshals Violent Fugitive Task Force and the Waterbury Police Department apprehended Curtis without incident, officials said.
Curtis will be held in Connecticut until extradited back to Jacksonville for prosecution.
“This investigation is ongoing and we are unable to release any additional information at this time” said Lt. Norman Davis, JPD Investigations Supervisors.
