Jesse James Dupree comes to Wilmington to support “Ride for a Cause”

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Bikers started their engines tonight for a good cause.

Performance Cycles hosted “Ride for a Cause.” There were about 75 bikers that started at performance cycles and ended at ziggy’s by the sea for a performance by Jackyl. The event benefited the wilmington police recreation association.

The lead singer of Jackyl, Jesse James Dupree says he rode his bike 500 miles from Atlanta to support the cause.

“There’s not a better fraternity of people and friends that I’d rather be associated with than these people right here today,” Dupree said. “They have big hearts. I love to put them two wheel scooters in the wind.”

A portion of ticket sales went to the association to fund a flag pole project that will be illuminated 24 hours a day.
Dupree says he was glad he was able to support the charity and lead a good night at Ziggy’s by the Sea.
