JetBlue lands in Wilmington with Boston route
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — JetBlue officially launched its nonstop flight from Wilmington International Airport (ILM) to Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) on Wednesday.
Airport officials and airline representatives held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Gate 5 ahead of the inaugural departure.
JetBlue will operate the route daily through Oct. 25 using its Airbus A220 aircraft.
With the addition of JetBlue, ILM now hosts seven commercial airlines.
“We are expanding the curb front, we are adding more parking, we are adding more gates,” said ILM Airport Director Jeff Bourk. “All of these things are critical to be able to not only support the growth we’ve seen but also support the growth into the future.
“We just can’t wait to see more air service continuing to grow this market for all the people who live here, but also making it more convenient and easy for tourists to get here.”
Bourk also shares that JetBlue is offering promotional fares as low as $49 on April 30 and May 1 to celebrate the launch.
