WILMINGTON, N.C. (WWAY) — JetBlue announced Wednesday that it will begin service at Wilmington International Airport this spring, offering daily nonstop flights between ILM and Boston Logan International Airport from April 30 through Oct. 25.

According to a news release, the airline will operate the flights using its A220 aircraft, which features wider seats, large windows, spacious overhead bins, and the latest in-flight technology and entertainment.

JetBlue says its inflight experience includes the most legroom in coach, free high-speed Wi-Fi, complimentary snacks and beverages, and live TV and movies.

“We’re excited to bring JetBlue’s award-winning service to Wilmington this spring, connecting travelers to the vibrant city of Boston,” said Dave Jehn, vice president of network planning and airline partnerships at JetBlue. “This new route not only provides convenient access to Boston’s rich history and cultural attractions but also connects Wilmington travelers to JetBlue’s broader focus city network, offering seamless travel opportunities to destinations across the U.S. and beyond.”

With the new nonstop flights to Boston, Wilmington-area residents will enjoy easy access to one of the nation’s most historic cities, as well as connections to 77 nonstop destinations from Boston this summer, including locations in the Caribbean, Latin America, Europe, and more.

“We are so excited to add a new air carrier to our lineup at ILM with the addition of JetBlue,” said Jeff Bourk, ILM Airport Director. “JetBlue’s nonstop service to Boston gives travelers even more ways to fly to Boston and access great connections, including many international destinations in Europe. We are thrilled to have this affordable, customer-focused airline here at ILM and thank JetBlue for investing in Wilmington.”

Swiss citizen Sabrina Weber said this flight to Boston will also allow people from both Wilmington and outside the US to travel internationally.

“Oh I think it’s great cause it gives me more options to travel, to have better international connections to Wilmington,” Weber said.

Bourk added that this speaks to how popular the Wilmington area is for air travelers.

“Here in the ILM market, we’re one of the fastest growing airports in the country the last several years in a row,” Bourk said. “And seeing that continue into 2025 is great. Avelo, a few weeks ago, added 3 new nonstops. We’ve got Jetblue now adding this nonstop service to Boston. And we think there’s more opportunity for the airlines to continue to grow here.”

This will be Jetblue’s only flight out of ILM to start out but Bourk said the airline could add more flights.
