Jewelry sales benefit autism awareness

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — April is Autism Awareness month and many organizations are hosting events or organizing campaigns to raise awareness and money for different outreach programs.

Locally, Stella & Dot stylist join a national effort to raise money for the HollyRod Foundation. It provides financial and emotional support for families and individuals touched by autism.

This is the second year Stella & Dot has agreed to donate proceeds from certain, specially designed items to the HollyRod Foundation. Last year, stylists raised a combined total of $121,700 for the organization.

Independent Stella & Dot Stylist Melanie McDonough showcased some of her pieces that benefit autism research and support on Good Morning Carolina. She even gave away an autism awareness bracelet to a lucky GMC viewer.
