JK Somers unofficially wins Republican primary for district attorney

BOLIVIA, NC (WWAY) — JK Somers is the unofficial winner of the Republican primary for district attorney serving Brunswick, Bladen and Columbus counties, according to preliminary election results Tuesday night.
With all 60 precincts reporting, Somers received 14,113 votes, defeating challenger Jenna Early, who received 12,670 votes.
The race was closely watched after longtime District Attorney Jon David announced last year that he would not seek re-election in 2026, saying this term would be his last after decades in public service.
