Juvenile facing charges after being located with firearm in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A Wilmington teenager is facing charges after being found with a gun near the Army Corps of Engineers building.
According to WPD, officers responded Tuesday night to Darlington Avenue to a reported suspect with a gun. They found a 13-year-old coming out of the woods. The officers later found the handgun deep in the woods.
This arrest comes less than a week after two drive-by shootings nearby caused property damage at a residence along Metting Road in Wilmington.
