WILMINGTON, NC (StarNews) — The gas stations at the intersection of Kerr Avenue and Market Street are gone. So is a live oak at the intersection of Market and Cinema Drive. Crews have been working along Kerr Avenue to relocate utility lines.
The changes are in preparation for a $20 million, three-year project to widen a 1.5-mile section of Kerr Avenue.
The NC Department of Transportation opened the project to bidding earlier this year with construction anticipated to start in October.
