Kids activities every Friday at Fort Fisher
FORT FISHER (WWAY) — Fort Fisher kicked off their summer kids activities this morning with some canon demonstrations at the historic site.
But don’t worry if you missed this one, every Friday from now through August 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. folks can come out for some hands on learning.
Assistant site manager John Moseley said although they may be called kids activities, these events are truly for the whole family.
“Many of them don’t know the history of Fort Fisher. This allows us the opportunity to tell that history, whether it be Civil War or WWII history, and allows the families to actually be active together,” said Moseley.
Starting tomorrow the “Beat the Heat” Summer Lecture Series kicks off. Moseley said historians from all across our area will stop by this summer to talk on a number of historic topics.
