Kids filling flags with Wells Fargo Championship autographs
NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Among the crowds at the Wells Fargo Championship are kids carrying around white flags, but hopefully they will not be white by the end of the tournament.
The flags are meant to be filled with autographs. Kids have been following around the players hoping to get the pro’s signature before or after his round.
Golf fan Mason McFarland, 14, was scouting out the players around hole nine this morning. He had a plan for the day.
“I only have one signature and that’s by Smylie,” McFarland said. “I really like how he plays golf and I really hope he wins soon.”
“So who else are you hoping to get to sign your flag?”
“Dustin Johnson and Davis Love III,” McFarland said.
You can get a flag at the Merchandise Shops. There are specific rules for when you can get autographs. Players cannot give autographs after they start their round according the Wells Fargo Championship policies.
