Man charged after Kure Beach shooting
KURE BEACH, NC (WWAY) — Police say they responded to the 100 block of Hanby Avenue a little before 5 a.m. Saturday.
There, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Officers arrested 20-year-old Doyan Lee Pierce of Jacksonville at the scene.
According to the Kure Beach Police Department, Pierce has been charged with one count of felony assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill or inflict serious injury, and two counts of misdemeanor assault by pointing a gun.
He is being held without bond at the New Hanover County Jail.
