Largest Latino event in NC kicks off at Ogden Park Saturday

Ogden, NC (WWAY) — The 16th Annual Festival Latino was held at Ogden Park this weekend.

This festival is the largest Latino event in North Carolina which celebrates and embraces the cultural differences between all people.

Folks were able to enjoy many Latino themed sections including a kids fiesta area, live music and dance lessons, exhibitors selling products and services and of course delicious food.

Festival attendee Evea Pullenavegam said she came “to be able to see other individuals and to see other cultures and be able to experience that. It’s just something exciting for me and my family.”

This was Pullenavegam’s first time attending this event since moving into the Wilmington area.

She says being able to visit with Latinos from other countries and see what they have to offers at the festival was exciting.

More than 25-thousand people are expected to attend over the 2 day event.

The festival is open from November 8th from 11am to 8pm and Sunday November 9th from 11am to 5pm.
