Last-minute grocery runs: Store Hours for Thanksgiving Day

LELAND, NC (WWAY) — As Thanksgiving approaches, many might be scrambling to pick up last-minute ingredients for tomorrow’s feast. Late this afternoon and evening, grocery stores saw shoppers eager to gather their final items.

At the Piggly Wiggly in Leland, shoppers seemed unfazed by the busy atmosphere, with many saying they found everything they needed on the shelves. In fact, the only thing that appeared to be running low was aluminum pans.

Tatiana, a shopper at Piggly Wiggly, told us she won’t have to make another stop. “We came in to get the rest of our items to make our famous mac and cheese and oxtails, and it went pretty well. Surprisingly, it wasn’t packed, and the prices looked good—that’s always a plus. They had everything we needed, so we don’t have to make another stop.”

However, for those who still have items on their list, some stores will be open tomorrow with adjusted hours. Harris Teeter, Lowes Foods, and Food Lion will open in the morning and close early in the afternoon.

Meanwhile, Aldi and Publix will be closed all day tomorrow.

All locations of Harris Teeter: 6 am – 2 pm.

All locations of Food Lion: 6 am – 3pm.

Lowes Foods: Leland location 6 am- 4pm.

Carolina Beach and University Commons 7 am – 4pm.

Reminder: Most stores will close by 2 PM tomorrow, so make sure to double-check their hours before heading out.
