Latimer House hosts historical fashion tour
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Latimer House in downtown Wilmington is using this Mother’s Day to showcase historical fashion.
The 19th century home hosted a Victorian fashion tour where guests were guided through the home as they learn about its extensive collection of archival garments.
The tour is hosted and created by Rachel Lowell, who studied art history at Appalachian State. Lower Cape Fear Historical Society Director Ginger Davis said they are proud to have someone so knowledgeable on the history of fashion, and to help bring the collection to the public.
“Having the chance to exhibit them is really special to us and we feel very lucky to have someone like Rachel who’s able to put everything together and to have people come in and see these things. We really want to share these with the public,” Davis said.
