Leland man facing gun and drug charges following arrest

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A Leland man was arrested Wednesday following an incident involving illegal firearm possession and narcotics.
Wilmington Police Department officers were in the 3000 block of Princess Place Drive when they saw 26-year-old Ke’Andre Tilghman of Leland pinning a gun against his body while on a bicycle.
Officers chased Tilghman on foot briefly before he lost control of his bike and fell.
Tilghman was placed in handcuffs and was found with crack cocaine.
Tilghman is being charged with possession of a firearm by a felon, possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver cocaine, carrying a concealed weapon, resist, delay, obstruct public officers, possession of drug paraphernalia, and felony probation violation.
He is being held without bond at the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center.
