LELAND, NC (WWAY) — The Leland Police Department has earned full accreditation from the North Carolina Law Enforcement Accreditation program (NCLEA).

After a comprehensive review, the police department was found to meet 116 rigorous standards across all aspects of its operations. Achieving accreditation involved nearly two years of preparation, including extensive file reviews, on-site inspections, and interviews with department personnel, community members, and local officials.

“The agency’s accreditation achievement is a reflection of our team’s hard work, dedication, and unwavering commitment to serving Leland with integrity and professionalism,” said Police Chief Jeremy Humphries. “We are proud to meet these high standards and to continue building trust and safety within our community.”

The Leland Police Department is one of only 14 law enforcement agencies in the state to earn this accreditation.
