Leland VFW Post 12196 celebrating 51st anniversary of Paris Peace Accords
LELAND, NC (WWAY)– Saturday marks a somber day in U.S. history for the beginning of the end of the Vietnam War on January 27, 1973.
The war began its ending on this day when the US and North Vietnam signed the Paris Peace Accords.
Each year, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and their Auxiliary emphasize the importance of that day and recommend veterans acknowledge day by doing some public service event.
The Leland Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 12196 Auxiliary are participating in a joint program with Leland Fuzzy Peach, Leland Police Department’s Community Engagement Team, Ocean Health Center and Teen Scene, Inc for an afternoon of celebration and remembrance.
The program will be held at Fuzzy Peach on Saturday 1/27 from Noon until 4 pm. Fuzzy Peach will be offering a 10% discount for this event.
Families are encouraged to join us for some great treats from Fuzzy Peach and an opportunity to meet our local Leland Police Department’s Community Engagement Team.
Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 12196 Auxiliary will be on hand to hand out Buddy Poppies and help with any questions regarding membership or veterans services.
