Lemonade stand raises $1,500 for Harvey relief

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — People all over the country are doing what they can to help those affected by the catastrophic flooding in Texas.

A group of Wilmington friends and neighborhood kids gathered Wednesday for a lemonade and cookie stand benefiting the victims.

One of the stand’s organizers, Marilyn Rush, says the kids were able to raise over $1,500 for the cause.

She says she was looking for a way to help and thought a lemonade stand would be a great way to get her kids involved.

The money raised is going to the fund NFL player JJ Watt has started which has now topped $10 million.
