Let’s play two! Sharks game rained out, rescheduled as double header


WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Rain the last couple of days has led the Wilmington Sharks to cancel tonight’s home game against Morehead City.

The rained-out game will be made up Wednesday as part of a doubleheader at Buck Hardee Field. Tickets for tonight’s game between the Sharks and the Marlins can be used Wednesday for the make-up contests. Gates will open at 5 p.m. Wednesday, and first pitch of Game 1 will be at 6:05 p.m. Game 2 will follow 45 minutes after the conclusion of the first game.

Coastal Plain League rules state both games will be 7-inning contests on a night where a double header is played.

The next game for the Sharks is tomorrow night, when Wilmington travels to Morehead City to take on the Marlins.

The Sharks next home game is Saturday night against the Fayetteville SwampDogs. The first 500 fans through the gates will receive a free t-shirt, commemorating 20 years of baseball in Wilmington. Gates on the will open at 6 p.m. Saturday before the 7:05 p.m. first pitch.
