Light of the World Church shares holiday warmth as Thanksgiving meals go fast

NEW HANOVER COUNTY (WWAY) — Light of the World Missionary Baptist Church pitched a tent and placed a welcome sign for its free Thanksgiving dinner. 

Brian Steele is a member of the congregation and was there to help pass out meals, something he looks forward to every year. 

“As long as Light of the World is here, we’re going to be helping the community, you know, fellowshipping, every year around the same time,” said Steele. 

So many community members arrived in droves that the church had run out of food by 1 o’clock.
