Light the Legacy brings special illumination to the Battleship North Carolina

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — If you’ve been near the Battleship North Carolina, you may have noticed some new lighting features on the ship.

A new uplighting of the ship debuted Friday evening and was part of the official kick-off of the Veteran’s Day weekend.

Light the Legacy involved special lighting on and around the battleship.

Dawn Drabble is a visitor who was at the event Friday evening and was delighted to see the special illuminations.

“The improvements that they’ve done on the battleship, the painting of it and just fixing things up in the tower was part of it and now this uplighting thats just going to make this a magnificent sight right here in Wilmington, right along the Cape Fear River,” Drabble said. “Its going to be fantastic.”

You can check out the Light the Legacy through Veteran’s Day from 5:30 pm to 9 pm every evening.

The best views will be along the Riverwalk.
