Live Oak Bank matches $25,000 grant for Children’s Museum of Wilmington
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Children’s Museum of Wilmington is celebrating a $25,000 donation from Live Oak Bank to match their own efforts this summer.
Director of Operations and Guest Services Kathleen King said it took them a month and a half this summer to raise $25,000 dollars. Live Oak Bank told them the company would match that if the museum reached the goal.
Today, the museum gave the bank a plaque and a big thank you for supporting them and helping fund more programs for the kids.
“We wouldn’t be able to do what we do here at the museum for all these kids if it wasn’t for people like Live Oak Bank and all of our other sponsors,” King said. “They really help us keep going. They make us do more and want to do more for the community and all the kids that need our help.”
Funds raised through the challenge grant will go towards the museum’s newest campaign initiative: “Branching out for Education.”
