Local boutique preps for Azalea Festival
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — With the Azalea Festival right around the corner, one local boutique is making sure it’s stocked with a Selection of handmade hats and fascinators.
Located in the Forum Shopping Center in Wilmington, Meadowlark Boutique offers a unique collection of hats and fascinators designed by Christine A. Moore, the first milliner to design for the Kentucky Derby.
Kendall Hurt, the boutique’s founder and owner, has been carrying Moore’s designs for more than five years. She explains why Meadowlark continues to offer these exclusive, one-of-a-kind pieces:
“They’re handmade, hand-woven, hand-cut, hand-dyed, and the materials are just top-notch—silk, beautiful organza’s, netting, and that kind of thing. Prices start in the early 200s and can go up depending on the piece itself,” said Hurt.
These hats and fascinators will remain in-store until May, after the Kentucky Derby.
