Wilmington bridge set to be demolished

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — In Wilmington a bridge featured in several notable films also known for its stunning views is set to be demolished in Greenfield Park.

Lions bridge in Greenfield Park was featured in “Silver Bullet” and “The Supreme’s at Earl’s All-You-Can-Eat.”

According to the city of Wilmington’s Facebook page, Lions bridge was closed indefinitely to the public in October, after the city discovered a “broken pile causing a significant slope” at the bridge entrance.

According to a Star News article, the bridge will likely be reconstructed.

The request for bid for demolition remains open until 3pm on January 7th.
