Local businesses and leaders honored by the North Brunswick Chamber

BELVILLE, NC (WWAY) — The North Brunswick Chamber of Commerce recognized outstanding businesses, professionals and community organizations during its Annual Dinner on June 23 at the Leland Cultural Arts Center, while also welcoming new board members and leadership for the coming year.
The annual event celebrated individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to the business community across northern Brunswick County.
“This evening was about celebrating the people and organizations that make northern Brunswick County such a vibrant place to live and do business,” said Executive Director Thom Kelly. “From our award recipients to our dedicated board members, volunteers, sponsors and Chamber members, each plays an important role in strengthening our business community.”
Kelly also thanked outgoing board president Shari Leone for her leadership and welcomed incoming president Christina Atti-Uptegrow.
Outgoing President Shari Leone said this year’s honorees exemplify the leadership and commitment that help the region thrive.
“This year’s honorees represent the innovation, leadership and commitment that strengthen our community every day,” Leone said.

New Board Members Welcomed
The chamber also introduced six new members to its board of directors, each of whom will serve a three-year term:
- Jonathan Paschal, Brunswick County Schools
- Jeremy Gunn, JBG Services
- Jessica Federman, Battleship North Carolina
- Aldo Fiallega, REV Federal Credit Union
- Jamie Howell, Saltwater Signworks
- Jennifer Alaimo, Michael and Son Restoration
Several current board members will continue serving, while five members concluded their terms this year, including Leone.
New President Outlines Vision
Incoming Board President Christina Atti-Uptegrow said she hopes to build on the chamber’s momentum by continuing to strengthen local businesses and community partnerships.
“I intend to be the person who continues to show up,” Atti-Uptegrow said. “I want to support the continued growth and direction of this Chamber while helping it remain rooted in the sense of community we all share.”
She said her priorities include expanding and diversifying the local business community, strengthening partnerships with schools and organizations that support children, and helping cultivate the next generation of community leaders.
The North Brunswick Chamber of Commerce serves businesses, nonprofits, government agencies and individuals throughout northern Brunswick County, including Belville, Leland, Navassa, Northwest, Sandy Creek, Town Creek and Winnabow.
