Local golf shop Loggerhead Golf Co. set to close after years in business

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Loggerhead Golf Co. has announced it will close its doors on Thursday, Aug. 29, after serving golfers across the Wilmington area since 2020.

Owner Darrell Posey shared the news in a message to customers and the community, calling the decision “very difficult” and citing economic challenges along with personal and professional factors.

“We want to sincerely thank our loyal customers and this community for your years of support,” Posey said. “Serving you has been one of our greatest honors, and we hope that we were able to provide you with not just products and services, but an experience that was truly unmatched.”

Posey expressed gratitude to Loggerhead’s staff, vendors, business partners, family, and friends, as well as the UNCW men’s and women’s golf teams and The First Tee of Greater Wilmington, which the company has supported for years.

“All current customers who are still waiting on orders will be contacted,” the company said.

Posey added that while the chapter is closing for Loggerhead Golf Co., he remains grateful for the community support.
