Lost UNCW ring found

CREEDMOOR, NC (WWAY) — A lost UNCW ring turned up miles away and years later in Granville County.

Stephen Minkley said he was weeding his yard near his children’s swing set in Creedmoor when something else came up with the roots. It was a 1976 class ring from the UNCW.

He said he asked around the area to see if anyone had lost the keepsake, but no one had. That all happened about a year ago. Then, he moved from that house, and said he kind of forgot about it until recently. So, he called WWAY because he’d love to return it to its rightful owner.

“I was cleaning up because I was getting ready to move and straightening up out there,” Mickley said, “and so I kind of put it away in a baggy, and it’s just been sitting there and I pulled it out the other day.”

There is something special about the ring that would make it unique to its owner.
