Lumber Bridge man arrested on gun and drug charges
COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The Columbus County Sheriff’s Office arrested a fugitive on gun and drug charges.
The sheriff’s office personnel were operating a checking station yesterday at the intersection of Peacock Road and Rough and Ready Road when they pulled over a vehicle because of a marijuana smell.
A search of the vehicle revealed a sealed pack of marijuana in the center console and additional marijuana in a bag in the back seat, which also had a handgun in it.
Rodrick Dockery, 42, of Lumber Bridge had an outstanding warrant for drug possession from Union County, South Carolina.
Dockery was charged with marijuana possession and possession of a firearm by a felon.
