Man accused of killing dog, posting it on Facebook

BURLINGTON, NC (AP) — Authorities have charged a Snow Camp man with felony animal cruelty after he shot and killed a family’s dog, then bragged about it on a social media site.

The Times-News of Burlington reports 20-year-old Trevor Lee White is accused of shooting the dog in the face while hunting on land near Robbie and Allie Dixon’s property.

The Alamance County Sheriff’s office said White shot the dog from a tree stand, then posted video in a Facebook hunting group the next morning. The video was eventually taken down.

Sheriff’s office spokesman Randy Jones said White originally described the shooting as an accident, but that evidence suggested otherwise.

White is currently free on bond. No telephone listing could be found for White, and it’s not known if he has an attorney.
