Man arrested after alleged copper wire theft

BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A Pembroke man was arrested on multiple charges including larceny and trespassing.

According to the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office, they received an anonymous call reporting a suspicious truck. Which witnesses say they had seen a couple days earlier. The truck and tag numbers were identified.

The truck was stuck in a field in front of a solar farm that recently reported copper wire theft.

The sheriff’s office says that deputies found a cut in the fence and copper wire cut from the solar panels.

Through the investigation, Nicholas Goodman was identified as a suspect and has several prior charges for stealing copper wire.

Goodman, 34, was arrested and is charged with felony larceny, injure energy facility, first degree trespassing, and injury to real property.

Goodman was arrested in Robeson County and given no bond.
