Man arrested after being robbed and shot at

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police arrest a man they say was shot at and robbed during a drug deal Saturday night.

A spokeswoman with the department says officers were in the area of 5th and Dawson Streets when they found a maroon Kia Optima on 4th and Kidder Streets with bullet holes just before 9:45 p.m.

At that same time, investigators say they got a ShotSpotter alert for that location.

After an investigation, police determined Marcus Alonzo Clark had fled the scene after he was robbed and shot at while dealing drugs.

They say they did find a gun in the area, but do not know if it was related to this shooting.

Officers say Clark was not hurt, but would not provide any information about his attackers.

He is charged with possession with the intent to sell and distribute marijuana and maintaining a vehicle for drug sales.

Police continue to investigate.
