Man accused of beating woman who lost eye arrested in Brunswick County

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The Brunswick County man accused of choking a woman and beating her so severely that she lost an eye is now behind bars.

According to online records, Jemar Lee Bell, 36, was booked into the Brunswick County Detention Center just before 11:00 p.m. Wednesday.

He is charged with assault on a female, first degree kidnapping, and parole violation.

The crimes happened between September 1 and October 14.

He is currently being held without bond.
