Man arrested following several vehicle break-ins at Bladen County tire shop

BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A Bladen County man has been arrested following several vehicle break-ins at a tire shop in Tar Heel.

The Bladen County 911 received a call regarding the crimes. The caller said the suspect was still in the area and gave a clear vehicle and clothing description of the suspect.

Officers quickly responded and say they were able to locate the suspect at a nearby gas station. An immediate investigation began and video footage was received which they say showed the suspect committing the crimes alleged.

Christopher Darryle Hawkins, 49, of Fayetteville was charged with 6 counts of felony breaking and entering of a motor vehicle, property damage, felony possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He is being housed in the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center on a $250,000 secured bond.
