Man arrested for allegedly distributing drugs near Hallsboro park

COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A man has been arrested for allegedly distributing drugs near a Hallsboro park.

The Columbus County Sheriff’s Office says they received multiple complaints regarding the distribution of narcotics within the vicinity of Red Bug Park.

Jordan Tyree Johnson was arrested March 26th and was found to be in possession of marijuana and three firearms, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Johnson has been charged with Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver (PWISD) Marijuana, Maintaining a Vehicle for the Sale of a Controlled Substance, Intent to Sell or Distribute Narcotics within 1000 Feet of a Public Park, Possession of a Firearm on City Property, Possession of Marijuana Paraphernalia.

Johnson has been taken into custody and has been issued a $5,000 secured bond.
