Bladen County man charged with murder in roommate’s death

DUBLIN, NC (WWAY) – A man has been charged with a murder that happened in the Bladen County town of Dublin late Tuesday night.

According to the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office, the 911 center received a call at 7:52 p.m. in reference to a domestic violence situation which occurred at a residence on Albert Street.

The 911 center received a second call a short time later indicating that a man may be dying at that location.

When deputies arrived, they observed blood on a bedroom window. They entered the residence through an unlocked door and discovered a dead 66-year-old male in the bedroom.

The sheriff’s office identified Michael Bullock, 35, as a suspect. He was detained at the Dollar General store at 7460 Albert Street in Dublin. Bullock was charged with murder and placed in the Bladen County Detention Center under no bond.

The sheriff’s office has not released the victim’s name at this time.

Both the victim and the suspect lived together at the residence.

An autopsy will be conducted by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Raleigh.

The sheriff’s office says the investigation is continuing and a motive for the murder has not been released at this time.
