Man charged after ambulance attack
BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Deputies with the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office say a man is in jail after attacking EMS personnel trying to transport him for medical treatment.
Investigators say Adrian Currie, 32, is facing charges including assault on emergency personnel and larceny of a motor vehicle. They say while Currie was in an ambulance en route for treatment in Lumberton, he attacked the EMS workers. There’s no word on the injuries but officials don’t believe the workers were seriously hurt.
Deputies say Currie then hijacked the ambulance and drove it back to Bladen County. He’s now being held in the Bladen County Jail under no bond.
